Emmanuel Morgan

Emmanuel qualified as a Solicitor in 1985 and was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 1987. He has over 25 years experience in law and in particular specialises in Criminal law, regularly appearing at Court in Belfast.

He also has an extensive experience and knowledge in various areas of law, such as Personal Injury Claims and Civil claims. He is also an Advanced Advocate, having completed the Advanced Advocacy course ran by the Law Society in 2007.

John Murphy

John qualified as a Solicitor in 1992. Having obtained a 2:1 in Law at Queen’s University, Belfast. Since qualification he has appeared in Criminal and Civil Courts on a daily basis. He would deal mainly with the Criminal Courts outside of Belfast, appearing regularly at Coleraine, Lisburn and Antrim to name but a few.

He also deals with civil litigation and in particular Road Traffic Accident Claims and indeed he has recently been involved in one of the largest ever settlements in Northern Ireland in this field.

Mr Murphy is also an Advanced Advocate, having completed the Advanced Advocacy course ran by the Law Society in 2008.

Louisa Grant

Louisa joined Morgan & Murphy Solicitors in September 2004, since that date she has worked in general practice and developed a specialist practice in Children and Family Law.

Louisa has a particular interest in Public Law Proceedings where Social Services have become involved in family life. She has represented the Parents in such proceedings and additionally the subject children of same, as she is a member of the NIGALA Panel and also the Law Society’s Children Order Panel.

Louisa also practices in Private Law Proceedings dealing with disputes over issues such as Residence and Contact arrangements. She also deals with Protection from Harassment Injunctions, Non Molestation Orders and Occupation Orders.
Louisa also deals with clients involved in divorce and ancillary relief proceedings. In addition, she has represented clients at Mental Health Review Tribunals and also in Judicial Review Proceedings.

Shane Byrne

Shane studied Law at Queen’s University Belfast, graduating with a 2:1 in 2004. He also completed a Masters in Human Rights Law at Queen’s University Belfast in 2005. He was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 2007.

Shane joined the firm in early 2008 and since that time he has specialised in all aspects of criminal law representing clients at all levels of the Criminal Justice System. He has also developed a particular interest in the emerging field of Parole cases and hearings for sentenced prisoners. He also has extensive experience in Personal Litigation, representing clients in a wide range of cases.

Prior to joining the firm Shane worked in a busy Belfast firm where he completed his traineeship gaining valuable experience in Family and Employment Law.

Roisin McCaughey

Roisin graduated in 2015 but despite being not long qualified she is proficient in all aspects of family law and is an asset to our family department. She deals predominately in Private Family Law dealing with disputes over issues such as Residence and Contact arrangements. She also deals with protection for Harassment Injunctions, Non Molestation Orders and Occupation Order.  She also deals with Divorces.
